Dressage Dog:
There are 3 basic gaits used to develop the Dressage Dog:
1. Bounce (compared to the canter in the Dressage Horse)
2. Trot (compared to the trot in the Dressage Horse)
3. March (compared to the walk in the Dressage Horse)
By learning these gaits according to the Dressage Dog program, the dog learns to:
1. Drive forward and upward when moving using the hindquarters and the back.
2. Move with energy and impulsion, while maintaining cadence and rhythm.
3. Synchronize movement with the handler's steps.
Lit-Boehm Bounce Index:
Defined on the scale of 0-10 as the physiological capability of the dog within the realm of the hindquarter/energy coefficient, relative to the sine-wave produced by bounce quality, as determined by the the representative indicators of the overall dressage dog methodology and or stimulus dependent paradigm, when 0 is the least and 10 is the greatest.
